In 2012 when Angelica Hale was just 4 years old, she was very sick with a double pneumonia attributed to an aggressive strep pneumococcal bacteria infection. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was forced to place Angelica Hale in ECMO Life-Support because she needed life-saving medical intervention. She suffered from multiple organ dysfunction, including failure of her kidneys. It was her new normal to have not peritoneal but hemolysis. After an 80-day hospital stay Angelica appeared to be dying after which she began a journey to recuperation. After a year and a half of dialysis Angelica was able to undergo the most significant operation she had ever undergone- her kidney transplant. The kidney that would be donated to her came from only her mother. Angelica Hale was able to undergo a kidney transplantation along with her mother on the 13th of September, 2013. The procedure was conducted in Emory University Hospital, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale pursued her dream of being a star ever since.
